The BYBL will return in the Fall of 2021 with girls and boys divisions in the U11, U12, U13 and U14 age groups!

U14 boys and girls divisions will run from early October to Mid-November with 6 or 7 games total. Girls teams will play on Saturdays and Boys teams will play on Sundays.
 
U11, U12 and U13 divisions schedule will run from early November until late February with 12 or 13 games total. Girls teams will play on Saturdays and Boys teams will play on Sundays.

Venues: Langley Events Centre, Trinity Western University, and other venues as needed.

Team Registration Opens:  Early September 2021

The BYBL will follow all ViaSport and Basketball BC Return to Sport Guidelines, and health and safety guidelines established by Public Health and the league facilities.

Formerly the Basketball BC Metro League, the Bandits Youth Basketball League provides an excellent opportunity for clubs to enter athletes into a competitive tiered league, with guidelines that are conducive to development for all youth basketball players.

2021-22 League Guidelines

• U14 BYBL
  • All players MUST be 13 years old or under, as of December 31, 2021, OR registered in Grade 8 for the first time. (Born in 2008)
• U13 BYBL
  • All players MUST be 12 years old or under, as of December 31, 2021, OR registered in Grade 7 for the first time. (Born in 2009)
• U12 BYBL
  • All players MUST be 11 years old or under, as of December 31, 2021, OR registered in Grade 6 for the first time. (Born in 2010)
• U11 BYBL
  • All players MUST be 10 years old or under, as of December 31, 2021, OR registered in Grade 5 for the first time. (Born in 2010)
• Any team using ineligible players must forfeit the game and maybe suspended from all league play should it occur a second time. Age verification is based on roster sheets and birth certificates might be requested (if a challenge is made by an opposing coach)
• Players are only able to compete on one team and in one division of the U11-U13 BYBL. A player is able to play up and compete on a team in the U14 BYBL and then another in the U11-U13 BYBL.
• There is no minimum age, but we caution clubs against entering teams that may not be able to develop or compete due to age disparity. 
• Minimum roster size = 7 Maximum roster size = 12.  If you do not have 7 players for a game, please let us know before.  The opposing coach will be informed and they will dictate whether the decision to play with less than 7 is acceptable. A forfeit will be awarded as a 20-0 score. 
• All teams must have matching uniforms; reversible or home & away versions. Please make sure that the undershirt matches the dominant colour of the jersey.  
• Concerns are directed to the League Director. If necessary a committee of the League Director and 2 disinterested coaches, selected by Basketball BC, will adjudicate any concerns.  Their decision(s) will be FINAL.
